Recently, press conference on Patent Innovation Index of Chinese iron and steel enterprises was held in Beijing. During the meeting, China Metallurgical Information and Standardization Institute released the research results of Patent Innovation Index of Chinese iron and steel enterprises. The composite scores of Patent Innovation Index were based on the current innovation situation of the Chinese iron and steel enterprises. The result showed that there were 5 enterprises rated as the companies with the strongest innovation ability, including Baosteel, Wuhan Steel, Panzhihua Steel, Anshan Steel and Capital Steel. Their composite scores were over 80. Besides, there were 43 enterprises rated as the companies with the strong innovation ability, including Xingtai Steel, Masteel, Baotou Steel, Taiyuan Steel and so on. Their composite scores were between 60 and 80. Xingtai Steel was ranked at 43.
In order to improve the quality of patents and scientific innovation level, Xingtai Steel introduced intellectual property management system through setting up an intellectual property management agency and an intellectual property management team. By the end of the July 2018, Xingtai Steel had received 238 authorized patents. Among the patents, there were 33 patents for invention, which had come out up among the Chinese iron and steel enterprises.
